Yeah Lyrics

I can't remember a better day
A one without giving up
The shine has worn off the things you say
It's just not good enough
I need to take this back and slow it down
Shine your crown
I can't pretend I feel the same
My skin's not thick enough

There's no comfort in song
I find it hard to believe

Don't go gently into the good night
But keep on fighting as the light dies
A wise man knows that the dark's bright
But we'll keep on coming
Keep on coming on
The sun will tell you that it's all right
The sun is burning in a dead sky
You can't keep living in a broke mind
So keep on coming
Keep on coming on

There is nothing you can say
To bring me running back
My mind is reeling but it's okay
The storm is pushing back
Another mouth to cut me down
And let me drown
I can't remember a better day
But I'm not coming back

There's no comfort in song
I find it hard to believe

So don't go gently into the good night
But keep on fighting as the light dies
A wise man knows that the dark's bright
But we'll keep on coming
Keep on coming on
The sun will tell you that it's all right
The sun is burning in a dead sky
You can't keep living in a broke mind
So keep on coming
Keep on coming on

So don't go gently into the good night
But keep on fighting as the light dies
A wise man knows that the dark's bright
But we'll keep on coming
Keep on coming on
The sun will tell you that it's all right
But the sun is burning in a dead sky
But you can't keep living in a broke mind
So keep on coming
Keep on coming on

Keep on coming
Keep on coming on

The sun will tell you that it's all right
But the sun is burning in a dead sky
But you can't keep living in a broke mind
So keep on running
Keep on coming on

I think this song could be about a past relationship or friendship that Shaun had that went sour ( A few of his songs are :L). The person wants him to come back but its not the same as it was, he can't find comfort in music an maybe needs to find something new? Maybe Shaun keeps repeating past mistakes? Beside all this Shaun keeps on fighting through thick and thin. Thats all I can make of it at this moment in time. Love the song, its one of my favourites on the new album. The new album as a hole is pretty deep and amazing, keep up the great work Shaun!

The song is based (at least in part) on the poem: Do no go gentle into that good night by Dylan Thomas. the poem was written by Dylan to his dieing father and how he shouldn't give up his life, even at the end. I can only assume that the same holds here, and if its not his father, its someone he cares about and hes telling them to never give up. a great song, and a great way to make that poem into a song.

I can't help but think most all of Seether's songs are about a relationship with a narcissist.. I just got out of a relationship with a narcissist and upon listening to these lyrics closer, they all resonate with me. Fur Cue, Words as Weapons, No Resolution, Here and Now, Yeah, Country Song... It's strange how they all seem like he's reflecting on his relationship with a narcissist.. There could be more songs, I don't know. I'm just now really listening to these lyrics... Even more eery, is that I never listed to Seether until my ex-Narc downloaded them onto my itunes.... Anyone else hear this???
