Hamilton Anxiety Scale Lyrics
Can't control my fear, my doubts.
I want to change, help me. x 2
When rivers flow backwards
Our words drown inside us.
Speak up, scream out, hear me.
Come out of this shell.
Breathe in slowly--feel your pulse.
Lay down with sound--feel your pulse.
Can't control my fear, my doubts.
I want to change, help me.
I want to change, help me. x 2
Our words drown inside us.
Speak up, scream out, hear me.
Come out of this shell.
Lay down with sound--feel your pulse.
I want to change, help me.

this is the greatest thomas giles song ever. lay down with sound!!!!!!
This song is about anxiety and a strategy to control your it. The title itself is a test for the severity of anxiety. Breathing in slowly and feeling your pulse is a breathing technique to quell the tide of a panic attack. I love how the song simply represents how anxiety feels, it's rare to see it conveyed so cleanly as when you hear "can't control my fear, my doubts" battling "breathe in slowly, feel your pulse" simultaneously.
Amazing song from an amazing guy; I hope to hear much more from Thomas Giles.
