Half Of Something Else (Bombastic Version) Lyrics
On the night, that we met
You told me you wanted, something more from me
And it was all that I could do
I remember your face, like a child
The way that you blush; the way that you smile
But now its all that I can do, and I wake up feeling new
There's so much more I never knew
So I think, about the years spent alone
Its like your searching for something, to make you feel whole
Like half of something else
Like half of something else
Just a fraction of yourself
Don't take it so hard, we did what we could
There where no easy answers, to be understood
And it was all that we could do, where the only ones who knew
And now all that I think about
The way that you scream
The way that you cry
The way that you wipe your eyes and fall against my side
The way that you told, told me I was wrong
And the way that you sing, when you hear a song
And the way that you answer, when you knew I was gone
Now I know that I'm blind, but you're all I see
And ya I know its not cleaver
But I just want you with me
I'm only half of something else x4
You told me you wanted, something more from me
And it was all that I could do
I remember your face, like a child
The way that you blush; the way that you smile
But now its all that I can do, and I wake up feeling new
There's so much more I never knew
Its like your searching for something, to make you feel whole
Like half of something else
Like half of something else
Just a fraction of yourself
There where no easy answers, to be understood
And it was all that we could do, where the only ones who knew

This song is obviously filled with inside references to the singer and his literal relationship, but the general subject matter is something that anyone can understand; the feelings that prompted the writing of this song, something that many people can relate to.. The feeling of going through your life, doing all these things, but feeling that something was just...off. That somehow or other, you were not complete. And then you meet someone or you're with them or whatever and then all of a sudden, everything feels RIGHT. Like that this is how it was supposed to be all along. And you realize..all this time, all the things you had done, places you had gone, you were just floating around, almost like half of a good book..not BAD by yourself...but not finished. Not whole. All you needed was for a certain someone to come and finish the book. And then, not only are you just NOT BAD but you're INCREDIBLE, together. They're like the milk to your cookies... And once you find them, you don't want to do anything without them, and you don't want them to do anything without you... Just like after you've eaten cookies dipped in milk, it just doesn't feel right to have one without the other.
The lyrics for the album version would be:
On the night, that we met You said that you wanted something more from me And it was all that I could do I remember your face, like a child The way that you blushed and the way that you smile Now its all that I can do, and I wake up feeling new There's so much more I never knew
So I think, about the years spent alone Its like your searching for something, to make you feel whole Like you're half of something else Like you're half of something else Just a fraction of yourself
