Manifest Destiny Lyrics
We'll carry our laundry
Across this damn country
Living solely on pretzels
And bloody marys
It's not gonna break
It's not gonna break, no way
It'll ride like a dream until 2088
We'll tear through the toll booth
Like nothing was in our way
It's not like our money
Would ever pave the way
We're not criminals
Its manifest destiny
Every man, woman, child deserves dirty laundry
The coast line will make a promise
'cause that's what you do with the promised land
Through the grapevine they'll hear about us
We'll have to hide our identities to make amends
The compass we carry
Will help us to lose our way
The devil's in the ocean
And he's calling out our names
The sands on the beaches are muddy and eroding
On the outline we fade
All the way to the Mississippi
And the coast line will make a promise
'cause that's what you do with the promised land
Through the grapevine they'll hear about us
We'll have to hide our identities to make amends
Across this damn country
Living solely on pretzels
And bloody marys
It's not gonna break, no way
It'll ride like a dream until 2088
Like nothing was in our way
It's not like our money
Would ever pave the way
Its manifest destiny
Every man, woman, child deserves dirty laundry
'cause that's what you do with the promised land
Through the grapevine they'll hear about us
We'll have to hide our identities to make amends
Will help us to lose our way
The devil's in the ocean
And he's calling out our names
The sands on the beaches are muddy and eroding
On the outline we fade
All the way to the Mississippi
'cause that's what you do with the promised land
Through the grapevine they'll hear about us
We'll have to hide our identities to make amends

I think that "Every man, woman, child deserves dirty laundry" must refer to the practice of european americans using blankets to spread small pox. This line and the work as a whole is haunting and satirical. Well done, dpc.
