What is this song talking about?
I kinda get the vibe that he's talking about the american government. Haven't really sat and thought about it, but that's what I get after a quick listen
I think its a reference to the illusion that many believe is reality. Stuck in Babylon (read:confusion) many can't perceive the truth and never produce anything of substance: like good works. Set your aspirations, blaze a new path where your effect will be greatest and not based on the facade the world has prepared for you, which is truly just serfdom. Like many of us Slug found out the establishment life is not our life: black and dead and void inside. To all the real people out there: Just Let that facade fall dead in the fog, and lets hit that high road out: We just need some faith. What a gem, thank you Slug you are a master of poetry.
I think this song is about a negative person who unconsciously brings other people down. They carry a cross for life's problems, complain about everything and think the worst of others.
