I think the song is about a person getting closer and more intimate to someone, yet still wants to know more. She describes her anticipation for finally knowing him completely, with "Something exciting is going to happen." The person doesn't want to show himself and share himself with her, though.

In the refrains, she describes the experience of being in his world as a place she's never seen, a place where she forgets about herself.

In the second verse, she comforts him, saying she'll be careful, much like promising not to trample on anything.
