Am Kreuz Lyrics

letting blood for you now
just
here and now
letting blood for you now
just
here and now

bury me where I die
just
here and now
bury me where I die
just
here and now

here and now
here and now

(male vocals)
nail my torn flesh to the cross
thrust a spear deep in my side
carried my cross long enough
wear my love like a crown of thorns

(female vocals)
you have carried your cross long enough
you have carried your cross long enough
I wrote you a bible in blood
my bleeding heart on the cover
a teardrop, a teardrop on every page
a teardrop, a teardrop on every page

(male backing vocals)
nail my torn flesh to the cross
thrust a spear deep in my side
carried my cross long enough
wear my love like a crown of thorns
deep in my side
deep in my side
to the cross
and wear the crown
love it like a cross
these wounds
will always
they'll always remember you
these wounds
will always
I'll always remember you

you, you are the one
when I, I am the one
I am, I am your heir
I, I am the one

Cover art for Am Kreuz lyrics by Amenra

I think the story in Am Kreuz is quite simple. Am Kreuz is german for "On the Cross". It's the story of Jesus and his last voyage to the cross. First he gets flayed and he is torn and then his journey to be cruxified begins. The man never tells us who he is, but it's quite obvious even without saying it. The spear is the spear of Longinus and the crown is the one he was given before his cruxifiction. Maybe the woman singing in the song symbolises Mary Magdalene. There were only three women at the end anyway. His mother, his mothers sister and Mary Magdalene. The last sentances are not Jesuses last words, but he did talk to god so I see the lyrics as his last shouts to god before the end.
