To The Stage Lyrics

I'm out the door, I'm on my ass again like every night before
I'm off the wall, out of my fucking mind, I'm out of control
I'll be the end of her, I'm in her head and in control
She's let me in, now take a sip and let the show begin
The floor's all yours, the house is full
You've made the slip now take the fall
I pull your strings, you're too deep in
So will she sink or swim

"Ladies and gentlemen, place your fucking bets
Here we come!"

Oh she's drown, how very spectacular
What a works of art I've spawned
Man am I proud of myself on this one
She's such a fucking masterpiece
Self destruction is such a pretty little thing

I know that I should walk away
But I can't bring myself to quit this game
She's just a beautiful girl with the weight of the world on her shoulders
I'm just a kick in the teeth from a world that's painted gold

She's out the door, she's on her ass again like every night before
She's off the wall, out of her fucking mind, she's out of control
I was the end of her
In her head, in control

Just like before
I should've told you again
That I'm sorry
I'm so sorry

My thoughts: Overall, this song is about a young man who drives his girlfriend insane by expressing all his hate and negative emotions to her, transferring the stress onto her.

At first, she tries to help him by listening to him and letting him release anger. But over time by doing this, the pressure of dealing with his erratic behavior slowly takes over her own sanity.

So while he is being relieved by letting his rage out, she is gradually losing her mind to his "emotional venting."

Because she still loves him, and he still loves her, they stay together. However, since their relationship becomes so dysfunctional, she eventually can't handle it.

Now mentally unstable, the girl has a meltdown and almost commits suicide while the boyfriend is out. When he returns, he finally realizes how venting all of his anger was corrupting her over time, and quickly calls for an ambulance.

As the paramedic takes her off to a hospital, he regrets not being able to see the effects of his actions earlier and break things off before things went wrong. He apologizes to the empty room even though it's far too late for it matter.

My Interpretation

yeah thats how i pictured it but i seem to turn most songs along these lines but this meaning sounds spot on to me

With the exception of the ending, your interpretation explains a past relationship of mine perfectly.

This song makes me think of a relationship i was in were my girlfriend left me a respectful gentlemen for a douchebag who made her think he was sweet and sensative though he really only wanted her for sex. In the end he got exactley what he wanted and she was crushed. Maybe if she had listened to me as a begged her not to date him cause he only wanted her for sex insead of shuting me out and leaving me she wouldnt have become a whore. Thats my thoughts on this song! =)

The end of this song is fucking amazing. Probably my favourite part of the whole album.

Awesome awesome awesome.

Lol! I was about to say the exact same thing (or something similar)

Just like before I should've told you again!! That I'm sorry, I'm so sorry ...

I think this song is about Danny manipulating a girl "I'm in her head and in control" but she can't handle the "Reckless & Relentless" lifestyle of Danny. So the girl does wrong stuff and Danny watches her downfall : "Self destruction is such a pretty little thing" Eventually he regrets what he did to her but it was too late.

"I'm just a kick in the teeth from a world that's painted gold"

What does that mean?: / Still no idea

i feel like it's self explanatory...but

a world that's painted gold- a world that's covered in rose-colored delusions. someone quite optimistic.

i'm just a kick in the teeth- metaphor

kick in the teeth. how would i feel if someone kicked me in the teeth? or if i kicked someone in the teeth? its aggressive its violent, shattering, surprising, destructive.

well to me it's Danny saying that he is a reality check to this girl (i'm just a kick in the teeth) like he is telling her "hey my world and lifestyle is tough" and the part about "from a world that's painted gold" is talking about how the lifestyle of a rockstar is suppose to all exciting and enticing but no body ever sees the filth and reckless behavior because it's all painted in "gold" to be glamorous to the viewers, just my take on it

My Interpretation

I think this song is about him creating a prostitute that he created.

" I'm out the door, I'm on my ass again like every night before I'm off the wall, out of my fucking mind, I'm out of control" This means that hes out working to get this girl and make her the prostitute he wants her to be. The rest of the first verse is talking about how he manipulatedf her into making her this protitute. And the breakdown is where he realized "What a work of art he has spawned". Hes getting money and this girl is beautiful but has been destroyed because "self destruction is such a pretty little thing".

TO the normal singing parts, i take it as his good side trying to take over his bad side and he regrets destroying the girl. And in the end he says hes sorry, but he cant do anything because she has been destroyed already

ill use this song to tell my ex girlfriend off

u forgot to put ladies and gentelmen place your fucking bets, here we goand later to put his evil laughter

He was with a girl that started to follow in his steps. Do what he did, almost as if she was obsessed. He wanted to break up with her but loved her too much. In the end, he killed himself because he couldn't take it anymore. Remember, she followed what he did.
