I personally think it's about how he is a different man/insane man when he is drinking or on drugs...kinda like the rest of the album, and how it's hard for him to get back from those ways "Don't wake me up, their songs are soothing, Their wine subdues me"
@Reilazation I know this is 7 years old but this song speaks to me on an insanely personal level involving drugs. Really spot on, and it's insanely depressing. But also my favorite song.

"Dreams, my mind won't lift me from my dreams." Seems as if he feels alive ONLY when he is dreaming, that when he is dreaming his life has meaning. I could be wrong though..

If you have watched the music videos, then you will get it. But let me explain. This song is in 3 parts. Reckless and Relentless, To the Stage, and Dear Insanity. Reckless and Relentless is pretty much about how drinking is tearing their carrier apart, To The Stage is about Danny picking up some girl and having sex with her. The girl ends up giving him some drug/poisen and ends up 'killing him'. At the end of the video, Ben finds him in a room with his eyes open, and his mouth foaming. He wasnt responding to anything. Dear Insanity, Danny is put in an ambulance truck, and ben gets a call from his tour manager saying that they are an hour late for their show, and that the stage is empty ect. Doctors are trying to revive Danny, and Ben ends up stabbing him with a needle with some drug that brings him back to life. Memories come back to Danny about the previous night, and he regrets what he did. The band takes Danny from the ambulance to the stage. Still recovering from what happened, the rest of the band tries to give him alcohol and girls are trying to flirt with him on the way to the stage. He denies all this because of what happened to him, which was the right choice in the first place. Reliazation is right. Its pretty much about him trying to become sober and direct himself from those ways, so his carrier wont wither away.
