First, as sleepy said, it is "Sun of a Gun" also the one line towards the beginning is "Too much of your LIGHT made me blind"
The 'Sun of a Gun' expression just means that he is similar to the sun, as she keeps getting drawn back to him emotionally like a planet orbitting him.
She keeps falling in and out of love with him like the changing of day to night. She wants to live in darkness and fall out of love with him forever but she keeps getting drawn back to him over and over again.

to me this song is about giving up on a relationship with a person that is lost and depressed and dragging you down with them. she's watching him galavant with other women, 'you've got them all fooled,' but she realizes she's not going to be fooled again. he's a sweet talker, but she's gotten wise. still, she's aware of the strong pull he has on her heart.
