I Feel Like Dancin' Lyrics
Shorty said she wants to run away
Says I look like a boy she used to date
Took me by the hand and pulled me to the stairs
(Not interested, girl)
Put her tongue all up in my ear (gross)
Almost made me spill my beer (oh shit)
She's up and ready to go but I don't care
(Pssh, whatever)
'Cause I'm in the zone
Turned off my phone
I've got my own agenda
I feel like dancing tonight
I'm gonna party like it's my civil right
(Everybody get kinda awesome)
It doesn't matter where,
I don't care if people stare
'Cause I feel like dancing tonight
Everybody gettin' kinda crunk
I think some dude just grabbed my junk (whoa)
Now I know how Ke$ha must be feelin'
(Like, what if we're the aliens?)
Bros tried to turn me upside down
I put a keg tap to my mouth (woah waiit wait)
But that's okay,
I'm dancing on the ceiling (ah)
'Cause I've got the groove
I'll bust a move
Just try and stop me
I feel like dancing tonight
I'm gonna party like it's my civil right
(Everybody get kinda awesome)
It doesn't matter where
I don't care if people stare
'Cause I feel like dancing tonight
Somebody call the police (ooh-ooh-ooh)
I think they're coming to get me
They said,
"You've got the right to remain on the dance floor
So show us what you've got
'Cause you know that you've got more!"
I feel like dancing tonight
I came to party like it's my civil right
(Everybody get kinda awesome)
It doesn't matter where,
I don't care if people stare
'Cause I feel like dancing tonight
Oh, one more time
I feel like dancing tonight (I feel like dancing)
I'm gonna party like it's my civil right
(Oh-whoa-oh-oh-oh)
It doesn't matter where
I don't care if people stare

Oh... i thought this song was about aliens who ate brains by sticking tounges into ears.... thus creating an empty void that can only be filled with dancing and alcohol. But a satire on pop music makes much more sense. :D
I think this song is about being free and not being controled. Like someone saying "You are going to clean the toilets!" and you go and say "Hell no! I'm gonna party all day because I want to! I will do what I want to do!" Something Like that
Shorty(?) said she wants to run away, says I look like a boy she used to date (Ha!). Took me by the hand and pulled me to the stairs, (I’m NOT interested, girl).
Put her tongue all up in my ear, (Gross!) Almost made me spill my beer, (Oh Shit!) She’s up and ready to go, but I don’t care. (Pssh, whatever!) Coz I’m in the zone, turn off my phone, I got my own agenda.
I feel like dancing tonight, I’m gonna party like it’s my civil right, (everybody get kinda awesome). It doesn’t matter where, I don’t care if people stare, (Woah!) because I feel like dancing tonight.
(Alex laughing) Everybody getting kind of crunk, I think some dude just grabbed my junk, (Woah!) Now I know how Ke$ha must be feelin’, (Like.. what if we’re the aliens?) Bros try an turn me upside down. I put a keg top to my mouth, but that’s okay, I’m dancin’ on the ceiling.
Coz I’ve got the groove, I’ll bust the movies; just try and stop me.

Somebody call the police, (Woo-oooh!) I think they’re coming to get me, they say: “You’ve got the right to remain on the dance floor”, so show us what you got because you know that you got more.

I feel like dancing tonight, (I feel like dancing…) I’m gonna party like it’s my civil right, (Woooah) It doesn’t matter where, I don’t care if people stare, because I feel like dancing tonight (Oh, oh, oooh!) I feel like dancing tonight. (Alex laughing)
i'm pretty sure its keg tap instead of top, other than that they look good to me! thank you for taking the time to put this up:)
It's a fun song to begin with. It might not be the most meaningful song, but I like it. It's literal, not much to say there, but sometimes I feel like it could be taken as an extended metaphor. Like, live life to its fullest, have a great time whenever you have the chance.
this song is sooo gay!
oh my god guys shouldnt it be a good thing that they dont always have to write songs with alot of meaning about loosing loved ones in relationship or death. This song means that they dont have any of those hardships to deal with and that they can just party, relax and have a good time! and if you know about dirty work coming out and know the track list then you'll know that alex really poured his heart out for the song "guts" and that the record is about meaningful things! and I for one Love this song and All Time Low!! :D
well they do have to deal with those things, but they also know how to handle them. alex has lost a brother due to suicide, sooo they for sure know about those hardships. but they know how to get past them and deal.

Alex said he intentionally wrote the lyrics to be all silly and stupid. It's suppose to have a sarcastic jab at radio with the songs they play today. Just turn on your radio and listen to today's musics lyrics. The song is suppose to be ironic in a way that it doesn't take good lyrics for it to be a good song.
This song is clearly not meant to be taken so seriously. It's All Time Low being All Time Low. They have a sense of humor, and their just showing it.
I honestly find this song to be god awful. Seriously, what happened to when they actually wrote meaningful songs? I can tolerate ATL's album Nothing Personal even though half of the album is literally about being drunk, but "I Feel Like Dancin'" honestly sounds like they're trying to cover a Rebecca Black song with a country twist to it. I'm glad they're basically ditching their old fans for 12 year olds who obsess over Ke$ha... this isn't them... at all... I know bands change from album to album and I'm totally not against that... but this song is garbage...
ok please hear me out. let me start by saying im not some 14 y/o school girl that is all willynilly about atl. im a 20y/o college guy. got into alltime low in early 2000's and stuck with them through higschool. so i feel like i have to give all their material a chance. when i first heard this.....well i had to pull my car over. i didn't understand it at all. theres shit about Ke$ha, and "shawty's" and it was just like "wtf?" hell i had the same reaction when i first heard Nothing Personal. I hated it, and...

I hated it, and was just in disbeleife that the band that produced songs with lyrics like We All Fall Down, and instrumentals like their Interlude on The Party Scene, put this shit out. But then again its All Time Low. they are hardly ever serious, so could there actually be a meaning to this "song"? so i did research. I found out that there actually is, and that this song is supposed to sound exactly the way it does. The meaning of it is to poke fun at these Pop artist that make songs about absolutly nothing. Perfect example, Rebecca Black. This song is meant to be served as a message to these artist, to tell them that anyone can make songs like that, so shut the fuck up. After knowing that, I could kinda laugh at the song, and understand that its nothing but a sillier version of Poppin' Champagne. I think Dirty Work will be a good album. I definetly think we are about to hear a new All Time Low, but thats expected.
P.S- How did you take country out of this?
brandonfite182 thank you! part of All Time Low's charm is their attitude towards everything, they dont take anything seriously... that is evident in this song a true fan is really JUST about music its about the persona about the band... which is one reason why i love these guys

alright, well i'm 19 years old. i've been listening to all time low for about four years and they've been my favorite band for quite sometime now. it's just hard to see how they went from their more alternative sounding music to this. but the country sound just came from the guitar at the beginning of the song. i didn't say it was all country sounding just that part of the song reminded me of it. i honestly wrote that comment after i heard the song for the first time, it's just going to take me sometime to get used...

yeah, i understand. i wasn't saying that you were close minded or anything.

Alex said in an interview that is a satire of all the songs you hear on the radio. It's making fun of the Ke$sha songs and all the autotuned, pop, meaningless songs.
