So first off I adore AFuckingA and this song....it ties probably at a close second for my favorite/most listened to song of the year. And that's saying a lot. Er, at least for me.
My take on this is that it's just about their life on tour, being famous and possibly trying to keep a balance between that and their lives. I really do love the way the song is written and my favorite part is the 2nd to the last part:

that right there gives me chills. one of the things that I love about these dudes is that they use elements of trance music in a lot of their songs which i think is what sets them apart. At least, that's one reason I listen to them so much. but those words right there, to me set the entire tone of the song despite the fact that they come at the end(or because of it). So good.

This is to do with the fact that although they're (the band) addicted to drugs and alcohol, they don't seem serious about anything but actually they are, they want to improve the music industry.

Singer feels like his life isn't very good, and he uses the drugs to take his mind off things that worry/upset him.
