The windows are cracked
cnd my heart is caving in
On you, my friend
cnd the rain, is pouring in
The things that I said, they were never, ever meant to hurt you
But they did

cnd I'm sorry, I'm sorry
I'm sorry, I'm, sorry

That everybody's falling apart
You said it doesn't haunt you like it haunts me
That everybody's falling apart
You said I'll be there when you wake up
From this dream
When you turn your life into a story
Oh and I'll tell every ghost
Everyone that I see
I'm waiting here, I'm ready for you
I'm waiting here, I'm ready for you

It's 2cM, and my words are wearing thin
On you, my friend
cnd the stars, are growing dim
There were things that I meant
But I never, ever said
Just to hurt you
cnd they did
cnd now I'm sorry, I'm sorry
I'm sorry, I'm, sorry

That everybody's falling apart
You said it doesn't haunt you like it haunts me
That everybody's falling apart
But you said I'll be there when you wake up
From this dream
When you turn your life into a story
Oh and I'll tell every ghost
Everyone that I see
I'm waiting here, I'm ready for you
I'm waiting here, I'm ready for you

cnd everybody's falling apart
You said it doesn't haunt you like it haunts me
That everybody's falling apart
But you said I'll be there when you wake up
From this dream
When you turn your life into a story

so in love with this song and the scattered trees.

my personal take on it is that it is about a break up. one of the lines that stands out to me the most is "you said i'll be there when you wake up from this dream, when you turn your life into a story". to me i take it as the other person thinks that the narrator isn't living life the way she see fit and she don't want any part of him until he change. but she still left that promise that she would be there once he does change. I love how he responds with "oh and i'll tell every ghost, everyone that i see, i'm waiting here i'm ready for you". It sounds like he did try to change and now thinks he is ready and wants her back. but the way the song ends i wonder if she ended up moving on, while he changed and kept his promise and she didn't.

this song should bring a lot of hope, because so many people today strongly believe that people do not change. this song can always put a smile on my face.
