Keep on Movin' Lyrics
keep on movin
keep on movin, don't stop like the hands of time
click clock, find your own way to stay
the time will come one day
why do people choose to live their lives, this way?
keep on moving
keep on moving don't stop no
keep on moving (x2)
it's our time, time today
the right time is here to stay
stay in my life, my life always
yellow is the colour of sunrays
i hide myself from no one
i know the time will surely come when
you'll be in my life, my life always
yellow is the colour of sunrays
keep on moving don't stop
keep on moving
like the hands of time click clock
keep on moving don't stop no
find your own way to stay
keep on moving
the time will come one day (all)
theme harmony x2
i know the time, time today
walking alone in my own way
extremely cold and rainy days
friends and i have fun along the way, yes we do
i hide myself from no one
i know the time will surely come when
you'll be in my life, my life always
yellow is the colour of sunrays
i hide myself from no one
i know the time will really come when
you'll be in my life, my life always
yellow is the colour of sunrays
keep on movin, don't stop like the hands of time
click clock, find your own way to stay
the time will come one day
why do people choose to live their lives, this way?

One of my nomadic anthems. Time stopped for me whenever this song came on the radio around 1989.
I see sunflowers blooming in Ethiopian gardens. I see a smiling dark-skinned beauty with kindness in her mind. I hear the hands of time stop as the earth spins on it's axis. I remember people I loved from afar but never knew.
I thought the Queen of Sheba had risen and was singing to me personally. (Yeah - I probably had a vitamin B deficiency. Life was pretty intense back then.)
I still hear Wisdom asking the human race: "Why do people choose to live their lives this way?"
It is an amazing thing to meditate on: she hides herself from no one.
Get off the weed, weirdo.
Get off the weed, weirdo.
This song reminds me of my son's father. When I first heard this song it "hurt" me deep, I didn't know why? A few days later, a friend called me asking my son's father's last name. I told her and she gave me the worst news that I could ever image. It was a small article in the NY Daily News that told of how one gunshot in his back took him from me and my son forever. I was deeply devastated. Every time that song came on "for some reason" hurt me; I would always change the radio station. Then one day a small voice encourage me to listen to the words.
It was the Lord got on my level (hip hop/R&B) communicating for me to "move on". We had went our separate ways but it still hurt like he!!.
He wasn't in our lives much but there were signs he was coming around [for his son's sake] then he was snatched by an idiot with a gun.
To this day I think of him when I hear this song.
My son is 30 now and never got to know his biological dad. :(
