Stall Me Lyrics

Fall to your knees and kiss the ring
The crowds rejoicing
All of my dreams wake up to despise
A world I once loved

Why did you bring me in
If you knew what you'd become
So curse everyone and everything
even the sun

Stall me, stall me I'm all in
Stall me, call me up or break me in
A dark room in the wallflower garden of the party
She's got four on the floor
She's waiting to kickstart me
So just stall me

I had a rosy dream
You gave up on you
And I gave up on me
Well love came along and said,
Leave them be.
We were wrecked on every rocky tasted
Light a cork my pretty little angel
Im singing to empty bottles everywhere, everywhere

Stall me, stall me I'm all in
Stall me, call me up or break me in
A dark room in the wallflower garden of the party
She's got four on the floor
She's waiting to kickstart me
So just stall me

She counts on stars, astrology
My moods are mercurial
But I know Mercury
Dont hold your breath
Baptised in the river of you
Hold on death, the moon,
the stars a sliver of you

Stall me, stall me I'm all in
Stall me, call me up or break me in
A dark room in the wallflower garden of the party
She's got four on the floor
She's waiting to kickstart me
She said shes got more
where that came from to spark me
So just stall me

This could be bout Ryan (and Jon to an extent), how Brendon felt after they left.

Why did you bring me in If you knew what you'd become -Talkin about how the brought Bren in but it must have been obvious that they were two different styles that would clash one day.

I had a rosy dream You gave up on you And I gave up on me Well love came along and said, Leave them be. -Life before the break would have been great for them, what they wanted but they all realised it wasnt right and gave up on themselves and each other. When Ryan and Jon left 'Love' (and Im all for Rydon but im taking this as brotherly love)told him that this is their choice and he cant change it.

The rest just all fits in...and I cant be bothered to copy and paste it all :)

I'm pretty sure it's, "A dark room in the wallflower garden of the party."

"So curse everyone and everything even the sun"

I think when he says "the sun" he's referring to the sun in 'When The Day met The Night'. Now he's talking about how he (the moon) and "the sun" aren't on such friendly terms now.

I guess 'stall me' means 'stall me out'. A variation of "you've got to be kidding me," or "spare me." When something you don't want to happen/can't believe is happening, happens. Can be used in the positive or the negative.

e.g. "Stall me out dude, no way!"

"All of my dreams wake up to despise A world I once loved"

I see this song as starting out as a dream. He's being rejoiced and loved in his dream and then he wakes up and is unhappy with how things are.

He then goes on to in a way accuse the girl that she has changed and doesn't understand why she wanted him and lead him to love her. "Why did you bring me in If you knew what you'd become"

in the part : "She's waiting to kickstart me So just stall me"

it could mean that she is trying to arouse him (or him to just be more interested in her, etc) and he doesn't want that and asking to be stalled.

"I had a rosy dream You gave up on you And I gave up on me Well love came along and said, Leave them be."

Another dream obviously.... and it seems to me that its saying what he wants, he wants her to stop being like she is now and same thing for him. The love part is saying either leave them how they were in the beginning or how they are now. which I'm not sure, but interprete that to your own liking.

"I'm singing to empty bottles everywhere, everywhere" I assume this means he is drinking away his problems

And the rest goes along those lines.

I absolutely love PATD so I just figure I'd let others see (and help) my views on their poetic songs.

Now this could be completely wrong but it just my thoughts on the song. Hope it helps your interpretation.
