The Luck You Got Lyrics

Think of all the luck you got
Know that it's not for naught
You were beaming once before
But it's not like that anymore

Count all the moods you've known
Know they're not stuck in stone
You were patient once before
But it's not like that anymore

What is this down side
That you speak of
What is this feeling
You're so sure of
Round up the friends you got
Know that they're not for naught
You were willing once before
But it's not like that anymore

The time that you would never trade
Is equal to the effort made
You were simple once before
But it's not like that anymore

What is this down side
That you speak of
What is this feeling
You're so sure of

What is this down side
That you speak of
What is this feeling
You're so sure of

Tired of overcoming stupid obstacles and dealing with the heartbreak and fallout of relationships.

AKA the theme song from the American "Shameless" TV series.

The song is addressed to someone who used to be easy-going but is now acting moody and depressed. They used to be happy, patient, and willing but they are "not like that anymore". The singer is asking them to question whether things are really as bad as they say, given the luck they have had and friends they have got, and whether the negative feelings they have are legitimate or just a symptom of their depression. He also wants them to know that there are things they can do to improve their mood, because their moods are not "stuck in stone".
