Me, Marlon Brando, Marlon Brando and I Lyrics
We live and dream about the future
Please ask Neil, I need to pow-wow now
So through the annals of our flavored times
Our heroes and all their fatal flaws
Me, Marlon Brando, Marlon Brando and I, sing
Lay me down, down, down, down
Lay me down, down, down, down, down
Help me off to sleep
But take me deep again
We live and dream about our heroes
I listened closely and I said
"I'm not sure where to place myself here, friend.
I might pawn the gold rings instead."
The winners write the rulebooks, the histories and lullabies
Lay me down, down, down, down
Lay me down, down, down, down, down
Help me off to sleep
(Down, down, down)
Take me deep again
(Down, down, down)
I heard what you said
(Down, down, down)
I picture brass wings in your hair
(Lay me down, down, down, down)
While gold and bronze are bonbons
(Down, down, down)
Our brass is mixed with lead
Please ask Neil, I need to pow-wow now
So through the annals of our flavored times
Our heroes and all their fatal flaws
Lay me down, down, down, down
Lay me down, down, down, down, down
But take me deep again
I listened closely and I said
"I'm not sure where to place myself here, friend.
I might pawn the gold rings instead."
Lay me down, down, down, down, down
(Down, down, down)
Take me deep again
(Down, down, down)
I heard what you said
(Down, down, down)
I picture brass wings in your hair
(Lay me down, down, down, down)
While gold and bronze are bonbons
(Down, down, down)
Our brass is mixed with lead

My favorite song on the new album. I think it refers back to Neil young's song "Pocahontas". A few suggestions for lyrics:
first verse:
We live and dream about the future. Please ask Neil, I need to pow-wow now. So through the annals of our flavored times Our heroes and all their fatal flaws.
second verse:
We live and dream about our heroes I listened closely and I said "I'm not sure where to place myself here, friend. I might pawn the gold rings instead."
last chorus:
Help me off to sleep Take me deep again I heard what you said I picture brass rings in your hair While gold and bronze and bonbons While brasses mixed with lead
Sorry for the double post, but I want to add that I think he tries to sing it like Neil Young.
Thanks for that. They do make a lot more sense than what I typed out! Edited :).
Please ask Neil, I need to pow-wow now.
Should it be "Please ask me out, I need to pow-wow now." ?
That's what I thought to begin with but having listened to it again, and with the link to Neil Young's song I'm pretty sure I'm hearing "Please ask Neil..."
