Morte et Dabo Lyrics
I'm pretty sure these are the correct lyrics and not the other ones that are posted on this site. The song sounds like it is written from the perspective of the Devil and his thoughts (clearly quite disheartened) of God.
Satan was originally one of God's leading angels and God but arrogance and envy caused him rebel against God and he was cast out of Heaven. It seems like the first verse is Satan saying how God came to him and said you are forsakend and I offer you forgivness but Satan declines.
The rest of the song tells of Satans hatred for God and the lyrics throughout are pretty self explanatory, it could also be some kind of a metaphor for the way Danny feels about someone and he just using the instance of God vs the Devil to compare it to but could be another way of translating it.
As I'm sure everyone knows by now 'Morte et Dabo' means something along the lines of 'the Gift of Death'or some have said 'I will bring death' but yeh, this is such an awesome song and awesome band, can't wait for Reckless and Relentless to drop!
i think on the part about ripping his eyes out it's actually "off your self-righteous face" but then again idk

okay i have a question if there is no sin in heaven, then how could the devil turn aganist god to think he is more powerful than god. anyone who thinks he is above god is a sin right?

I believe it was only humans who didn't have knowledge, and Angels had the same knowledge - or less - as God. Not gonna get into a whole religion bible bash but I think Angels did have knowledge about good and evil, and yeah, God's right hand (or is it left?) angel defied God. And yeeah, it is a sin. Hope that helps....

This song's lyrics are from the viewpoint of Satan, who was kicked out of heaven by God due to his arrogance. The first verse talks about how God said upon to Satan that he was forsaken and offered him forgiveness, but Satan refuses. The rest of the song then talks about Satan's hatred toward God.
ugh idont no if this is dannys words to god or satins cuz if its dannys then that would suck cuz im christian and i love asking alexandria but this song just gave me second thoughts about it
im not meaning to bash on your beliefs or anything but just because a band isnt christian or expresses beliefs other than yours doesnt mean you have to suddenly not like or listen to them anymore.

hahah didn't know satan was a religion but okay acceptance, it's a little different when it "lowers" your own beliefs. it has nothing to do with being open about the song hahaha

satanic is a religion where you worship the devil

As said on Facebook:
Danny Worsnop: Eliyah, the song isn't a message of hate or any kind of shit-talking. It's fictional, as I said in the release. I am in no way religious, but I don't have a problem with people having their beliefs. Imagine all the movies and books that blaspheme and show animosity to religious figures... Morte Et Dabo is a story, not an attempt to offend.
It also has no reference to christianity. It could be one of MANY religions, or not a religion at all. If you don't want to take it in as christianity, it could be more of a metaphor for politics, even as small as your boss, or a school. It's the concept of tearing down that which controls you.
I understand the confusion, but you took it in that meaning yourself. February 21 at 5:12am
that doesn't make sense. he said it has no reference to christianity yet in the song he talks of heaven, hell and a 'son'. if that's not aimed at christianity then that's really weird.

Morte Et Dabo was written to be the most evil, blasphemic song it could be. The only fictitious song on the record, about slaying god and tearing apart everything in the heavens. A real 'hell on earth' track. Not really much to say about it beyond that. It's fucking murderous.
from the great the great man himself, Mr.Worsnop. http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=165653330152258
Ok to start, you all are stupid twats. Danny had no intention to insult any religion at all in this song, it was more of a story. If you think this song is bad, why dont you try reading the lyrics to Unanswered where the song is literaly saying "God, you've left so many prayers unanswered, how are you gonna fix this mess" and "where is your god now." I'll be completely honest, I am Christian but I dont live by the fucking bible, obviously you cunts who are affended by this song do though, but you should really take this song as a story, not a "fuck you god" feel. I on the other hand, will always be an Asking Alexandria fan, no matter what.
As for the song.
Morte et Dabo = Death I will give you.
So he came forth and said unto me son you are forsaken condemned for the sins that you live I offer you forgiveness
He being the main charcter of the story who i see as the devil, and me/I being a dictator, a ruler of a world, anyone really, depends on how you take the story in. who is offering forgivness for sins, crimes, ect. The only thing this person asks of this character is to bow down before him, but the character is aying I'll never bow to he who claims to be divine Ill tear down your gates with my bare fucking hands And burn the world that you rule over No matter how convinced you are youre not a god of mine you're not a fucking god of mine
You're not a fucking god of mine = I will never be your follower, you are not my god i believe in.
This power over the masses is a gift you dont deserve when your blood spills, Ill drink from your skull you can run but you can't hide Bitch, I'll fucking find you! I'll tear yours eyes right out of your self-righteous face Lord, I'll fucking find you! I'll dig your tongue out of your rancid fucking mouth
The dictator holds a power in which he does not deserve so now the main character of the story will bring him death and he is discribing what he will do to him
Heaven will, burn to the fucking ground your world will crumble, and fall from the skies blood will spill, and rain upon the earth your reign is over, and Ill wear your crown
Heaven being the dictators world will burn to the ground after the main character is done. "Your world will crumble"
This is your demise I know you can feel it in your chest This is your demise it's getting closer This is your demise I'm creeping from the depths of hell This is your demise i know where you sleep
This is the demise of this dictator, and the main character is coming to pull him down to hell, he knows where he sleeps at night.
What a way to end the world, With false hope in a false god. What a way to end the world, With false hope in you.
This is how i see the story, sorry for any spelling mistakes or anything. my comment box is really acting weird so i cant really read what im typing.
I don't think they wrote the song thinking about the conflicts it would cause with Christians. I'm christian it's just lyrics people get over it.
This song is not about their views. It is merely a "fictional story". Why quotes? It is because Ben Bruce (lead guitarist of Asking Alexandria) said that is exactly what it is. It is not about their views of god nor the devil. Everyone needs to quit making a huge controversy about the song, just go to one of their shows and ask Danny or Ben the meaning and they will say what I said.
if their new album is better, england will drift out to sea
does anyone know where that opera choir thing at the beginning is from? i just heard it from somewhere else from long ago. batman TAS to be exact
