To me this song is about a love you have to leave for a while, yet throught some connection (facebook) you can see what they are up to. When you meet up for the limited time you have, you have the lingering feeling that there is someone else or things are different ( I remember when you were young and afraid, After all of this time ,I still feel strange) And even though your not too innocent (Things that I've done that I can't say I followed a voice that called my name) you try to return to normal (I tried to swim back to the surface, something held me back) things will never be the same (You didn't even try to reach your hand up to me then)
the narrator seems dead & drowned... she loved a person who didn't love her back that much & wasn't much bothered when she went away; although she herself seems ashamed of some secret... nevertheless, she still loves him & watches him from the otherside, wishing sometimes him to remember... she understands that he was never the one & she herself is responsible for her helpless situation but somewhere deep inside refuses to accept it in her own fragile feminine way....
