I love this song because its beautiful and powerful. But putting the meaning into words is sortof difficult. In my opinion when he says,
"We broke up, yeah it's tough, most guys woulda been crushed Wasting their time wondering where they went wrong No way, not me, hey I'm doing just fine I'm not afraid of moving on"
... he is pretending to talk to like one of his friends or something. He is acting like everythings fine and he doesnt care about the break up. But then at the end of the chorus he is saying its easy to go out, and its easy to smile (when she's around) but she doesnt realize that its not easy to make it look easy. its actually really hard.
And then at Natasha Beddingfields part, she isnt pretending to be ok; She is telling how she truly feels. But she is admitting to that she doesnt let the hurt show. She admits that she is acting like shes having the best time.
But they both say that its easy to go out and smile in front of the other (they must be in same group of friends) but its not easy to make it look easy.
