White Rabbit Lyrics

Your magic white rabbit
Has left its writing on the wall
We follow like Alice
And just keep diving down the hole

You can't fix your broken promise
Our ties have come undone
I will not be used to be battered and abused
It's the reason why I choose to cut my losses
Your lies fool no one
Your magic white rabbit
Your white room straight jacket

Your magic white rabbit
Has left its writing on the wall
We follow like Alice
And just keep diving down the hole
We're falling and we're losing control
You're pulling us and dragging us down this dead end road
We follow like Alice
And just keep diving down the hole

You can't offer your poison to me
In your kingdom of filth
White Rabbit
Straight jacket

Your magic white rabbit
Has left its writing on the wall
We follow like Alice
And just keep diving down the hole
We're falling and we're losing control
You're pulling us and dragging us down this dead end road
We follow like Alice
And just keep diving down the hole

I won't be pushed aside
I will be heard
I will get what I want
What I deserve

I won't be pushed aside
I will be heard
I will get what I want
What I deserve

We're falling and we're losing control
You're pulling us and dragging us down this dead end road

Your magic white rabbit
Has left its writing on the wall
We follow like Alice
And just keep diving down the hole
We're falling and we're losing control
Your pulling us and dragging us down this dead end road
We follow like Alice
And just keep diving down the hole

Your magic white rabbit
Has left its writing on the wall
We follow like Alice
And just keep diving down the hole
Diving down the hole

I believe this song is ultimately about a relationship between another party. In this song, the other party is personified. This "person" in actuality treats the protagonist like crap, but the relationship between the protagonist and the other party still manages to stay intact due to the fantasy, which is where "Wonderland" takes shape. The guide to Wonderland is the White Rabbit. Due to the White Rabbit, the protagonist is saved from the hell that is in "real life" (Your magic white rabbit/your white room straight-jacket). Eventually the fantasy will be recognized as a fraud, which is where the line "your magic white rabbit has left its writing on the wall" comes into play. Traditionally, "writing on the wall" signifies doom. The doom in this story happens to both "Wonderland" and the real world relationship. The fantasy hits "a dead end" and there is no where to go but back up the hole. The protagonist, now set in the real world for good, can see through the fantasy, and view the problems for the first time. As he views the problems, he knows that he must disconnect himself, so he can "get what he deserves"

My Interpretation

I don't necessarily believe it's about a relationship with another person based on a fantasy, I think it's about a relationship based on cocaine, and since White Rabbit is another term for cocaine, they took that term and turned it into an amazing, metaphoric song circling around Alice in Wonderland. The relationship with the other person, I would guess a woman, and thier dependancy on cocaine has driven them to a "dead end road," and he wants to turn around and get what he deserves without the drug. The band has admitted to having issues with cocaine, and the...

I hope these guys gain more attention. They're very good I love that line in the chorus "Your magic White Rabbit Has left its writing on the wall We follow like Alice And just keep diving down the hole" I know this isn't what it's about, but, to me, I feel like it's about blindly following things you see or hear without questioning it. And then realizing what's happening and trying to stop or quit.

This song sounds a lot like two things to me: Addiction in any way shape or form, or the Government. I think it's the latter personally. If you want more info, please read on. If not, then stop?

Your magic white rabbit Has left it's writing on the wall We follow like Alice And just keep diving down the hole ~ the "White Rabbit" is the government. The 'writing on the wall' are the directions it gives us. Plug it in, and you get "Your magic, the government, has told us what to do, we follow like Alice, and just keep diving down the hole" which says we blindly follow the government and do what they say.

You can't fix your broken promise Our ties have come undone I will not be used to be battered and abused It's the reason why I choose to cut my losses Your lies fool no one ~The government has broken many promises, they can't make up for it. The gov. and I are "not cool" and won't take this abuse anymore. You can't fool anyone.

Your magic white rabbit Your white room straight jacket ~A straight jacket constraints you and gives you no control - the narrator is basically saying "We're taking control - you can't abuse us any more. You're powerless."

Your magic white rabbit Has left it's writing on the wall We follow like Alice And just keep diving down the hole We're falling and we're losing control Your pulling us and dragging us down this dead end road We follow like Alice And just keep diving down the hole ~Same as intro

You can't offer your poison to me In your kingdom of filth ~the poison represents the lies that the gov claims as truthful reality. Obviously, the 'Kingdom Of Filth' represents the nation White Rabbit Straight jacket ~same as before

I won't be pushed aside I will be heard I will get what I want What I deserve ~ This is saying "I won't let you control my life, and I won't let you persuade me. I will get what I want, and what I deserve. Liberty."

I think it's about the seduction and addiction to something harmful, whether it be drugs or a person etc. I love the obvious reference to Alice In Wonderland/Through The Looking Glass.

i think it means we just blindly follow something that seems too attract us, and then end up in some situation that isnt too great.

Honestly, I'm surprised nobody interpreted this like I did. To me, it seems like the song is about an ongoing cocaine addiction and the downward spiral it sends your life into. Every line in the song can be deciphered into the cocaine sense. "falling and losing control, pulling us dragging us down this dead end road" "your magic, white rabbit" is pretty self explanatory if you ask me.and "i wont be pushed aside, i will be heard, i will get what i want, what i deserve" sounds like a fiending cocaine addict who is determined to get his fix. "we follow, like alice" which i believe implies that only the weak fall victim to drug abuse, seeing as alice was a naive, trusting figure in the movie. being led on this adventure by many people/things (drugs).

White Rabbit could be a reference to a book about a girl call Martha, who was secretly an addict. White Rabbit I think was the code for what she was taking. I agree with Cpov,

Song Meaning

To me this song sounds like someone who is lost in their own Wonderland. Her fantasy is being corrupted and twisted, but no matter how much it changes and is frightening she keeps traveling deeper and deeper into her dark desires. She dives and plunges into the darkness without a second thought, like an innocent child, and even though she is stained with blood and tears she's still smiling because all she sees is her dreamland, her Wonderland. This poor little girl is insane and domed to wonder around inside her head following the white rabbit which is just the darkness taking shape trying to lure her in. My take on this is mostly just based on the chorus which is my favorite part. I know my interpretation is wrong, but thats how the song makes me feel, and I like it.

God this song is kick ass. Like all songs it can be perceived or interpreted to be about more than one thing. It could be about a guy that has a girlfriend with an addiction, self control issues, and is a liar to herself and him. she told him she would quit and be better. "you cant fix a broken promise" and "your lies fool no one" and hes being dragged down with her in her wonderland of filth "we follow like alice and just keep diving down the hole" created by her crazy mind which is filled with lies "white rabbit straight jacket" shes the kind of crazy that does harm to themself. He sees the truth and wants out he wants a better life "what he deserves" hes out "its the reason why i choose to cut my losses",

thats one way of looking at it another could be that we all kind of live in our wonderlands in a way in our heads with movies, games, music, art, jobs, passions, and dreams "we follow like alice and just keep diving down the hole" in a way were all not perfect and have a good and a bad side some of the song he could just be fighting from being a bad person and "you cant offer your posion to me" could be aimed at drugs or fast food and shit like that. "you cant fix a broken promise could be about the government and how they always lie. this song is about our worlds in and outside of our heads. but only the ones who wrote it know what it is supposed to mean.

Did no one think about the fact that every good band has one complete "screw it, I'm bored, let's be stupid" song? That's most likely what this is.

@Spunc99 This song is NOT one of the those songs. this song is far from in. See? http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=22031
