Jessie J
Stomp stomp I've arrived
Drop the beat, nasty face
Why ya lookin' at me?

Flyin' flyin' flyin' flyin' through the sky
In my spaceship
I'm an alien tonight

Dirty dirty dirty dirty dirty dirty sucka
You think I can't get hurt like you, you motherfucker
I can do it like a brother
Do it like a dude
Grab my crotch, wear my hat low like you

Do it like a brother
Do it like a dude
Grab my crotch, wear my hat low like you

We can do it like the man'dem, man'dem
We can do it like the man'dem,
Sugar sugar sugar
We can do it like the man'dem, man'dem
We can do it like the man'dem,
Sugar sugar sugar

Boom Boom, pour me a beer
No pretty drinks, I'm a guy out here
Rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin' money like a pimp
My B-I-T-C-H's on my dick like this

Dirty dirty dirty dirty dirty dirty sucka
You think I can't get hurt like you, you motherfucker
I can do it like a brother
Do it like a dude
Grab my crotch, wear my hat low like you

Do it like a brother
Do it like a dude
Grab my crotch, wear my hat low like you

We can do it like the man'dem, man'dem
We can do it like the man'dem,
Sugar sugar sugar
We can do it like the man'dem, man'dem
We can do it like the man'dem,
Sugar sugar sugar

Boys, come say what you wanna
Boys, you need to lick my dollar
Boys, gettin' hot under the collar
Holla holla whoa

Boys, come say what you wanna
Boys, you need to lick my dollar
Boys, gettin' hot under the collar
Holla holla whoa

I can do it like a brother
Do it like a dude
Grab my crotch, wear my hat low like you

Do it like a brother
Do it like a dude
Grab my crotch, wear my hat low like you

We can do it like a brother
Do it like a dude
Grab my crotch, wear my hat low like you

Do it like a brother
Do it like a dude
Grab my crotch, wear my hat low like you

We can do it like the man'dem, man'dem
We can do it like the man'dem
Sugar sugar sugar
We can do it like the man'dem, man'dem
We can do it like the man'dem
Sugar sugar sugar

Do it, do it like a dude
Do it, do it low like you
Do it, do it like a dude
Do it, do it like a dude

I actually think there is a deeper meaning that the lyrics let off. I think it is how everyone expects you because you are girl to be get hurt by things someone guy can do when it comes to things and Jessie is saying like I can do things and not get hurt (like heartbroken or something). I'm can be just as tough as you are. It kind of reminds me of sorta like a "girl power" song in the case of I can do things just like a guy and not be a girl about things.

I agree with Elzbieta. I think this song is basically saying "Don't treat me differently because I'm a girl. I can do things just like you." Prejudice against women is still effective in society even though more opportunities are opening up for women :) I love this song. It's beyond catchy :D

    My Interpretation

The song is definitely about women being equal to men. By showing that women can be 'like a dude' she saying they are just as capable of that level of toughness and masculinity despite being female and that women don't have to be vulnerable just because their women.

Seeing as how she is openly bisexual, I will first of all say that I think the lyrics are wrong.

Where it says "You think I can't get hurt like you, you motherfucker", I mean really, that doesn't make any sense at all. Like Princesszelda said, she doesn't get it. However, if you replace the word hurt with her, you get:

"Dirty dirty dirty dirty dirty dirty sucka You think I can't get her like you, you motherfucker I can do it like a brother Do it like a dude Grab my crotch, wear my hat low like you"

Which makes a whole lot more sense to me, at least if you take it into count that she is bisexual. Also in the vid (in the link that cassinova008 posted) when she explains the song she is talking about men's ego.

So to me this song is about getting out the message like "hello, just because you're a guy and you have a big fat ego and a d*ck, doesn't mean you can get more girls than me, 'cause I sure as hell can do that too." like a dude. Lol. That's the first thing I thought when I heard this song, and also like she says in the vid it's pretty much about bringing some justice to girls in general. I think she does that really well.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
