Bulldozer Lyrics

We can beat this, you and me
Just a matter of degrees
I can’t calculate this late at night
Honeymooners move in wet cement (?)
They don’t know about the walls that rise and rest

Bulldozer
Run right over us
Feel us snap and crush and burn and tear
Bulldozer
Clear a space for us
Let’s rebuild this love on what we were

Come outside this view is free
Only clear moonlight can reach
You and I will stay low to the ground
Honeymooners we are bouncing chairs (?)
Cross your fingers that they don’t get returned

Bulldozer
Run right over us
Feel us snap and crush and burn and tear
Bulldozer
Clear a space for us
Let’s rebuild this love on what we were

Bulldozer
What we made you fall
You’re the last resort to start over

I can feel your arms around me
Pull me closer, Hold me tightly
Precious metals now colliding
Look to you my carbon copy x2

Bulldozer
I think you’re only one
That can work, that can work, that can work
Bulldozer
Step up this is gonna hurt
Gnash your teeth take a bite of the dirt

This song is about a couple that builds a relationship on a really shaky foundation, but they inevitably hold each other closer in an effort to keep it going for as long as possible. Hence at the end, he sings "Pull me closer, Hold me tightly Precious metals now colliding Look to you my carbon copy x2"

Where the relationship just collapses upon it self. I think in this case, both persons know that the relationship is doomed to fail yet they still stay in it

I think "bull dozer" is a euphamism for a fight where they air all the diry laundry and secrets they've kept from each other throughout their relationship. I've been there. I needed a bull dozer in my marriage. It never happened.
