The song "Fortnight" by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word "fortnight" shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.
She, she ain't real
She ain't gon' be able to love you like I will
She is a stranger
You and I have history
Or don't you remember
Sure, she's got it all
But, baby, is that really what you want
Bless your soul, you got your head in the clouds
She made a fool out of you
And, boy, she's bringing you down
She made your heart melt
But you're cold to the core
Now rumor has it she ain't got your love anymore
Rumor has it (rumor)
Rumor has it (rumor)
Rumor has it (rumor)
Rumor has it (rumor)
Rumor has it (rumor)
Rumor has it (rumor)
Rumor has it (rumor)
Rumor has it (rumor)
She is half your age
But I'm guessing that's the reason that you stayed
I heard you've been missing me
You've been telling people things you shouldn't be
Like when we creep out and she ain't around
Haven't you heard the rumors
Bless your soul, you got your head in the clouds
You made a fool out of me
And, boy, you're bringing me down
You made my heart melt, yet I'm cold to the core
But rumor has it I'm the one you're leaving her for
Rumor has it (rumor)

Rumor has it (rumor)
Rumor has it (rumor)
Rumor has it (rumor)

All of these words whispered in my ear
Tell a story that I cannot bear to hear
Just 'cause I said it, it don't mean that I meant it
People say crazy things
Just 'cause I said it, don't mean that I meant it
Just 'cause you heard it

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
No Surprises

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
Magical
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
My boyfriend's son (4 yrs old) was humming this song. I asked him what it was and he said "Rumor Has It". I am assuming that means my boyfriend's wife has played this song a few times. We had an affair, I'm about half his age. Huh.
huh. thats like so funny that you broke up a home.
wow you are disgusting
Hey, Stephernoodle, you don't know what the fuck you're talking about, so shut you're fucking mouth.

Things could've already been falling apart in the home. And it's equally the husband's fault. All this shit where people blame the cheat-e is, well, shit.

So hop off her dick you stupid cunt. You have no right to judge her. YOU'RE judging her, and it makes you look like the disgusting one. This makes me so mad, you have no idea.

@cutewhensedated, I'm assuming you're a woman. Sorry if you aren't. xD
@cobehn dude back the hell off. I kind of agree with stephernoodle. And a thing about judging well its going to happen no matter what, people have their own opinions and there guna say it no matter what, thats a problem everyone has even when your not aware of it at the moment, and at @ cutewhensedated... well umm you could have at least waited until he go divorced to be with him so you wouldnt be so judge no matter how fallen apart their marriage was. Soo yea this comment was bothering me so i had to say something...
@stephernoodle If I was ashamed of my actions, not only would I not have done it, I certainly wouldn't post about it. Judge, don't judge: I don't care. Just be careful up there on your moral high-horse - it's a long fall and you can't know what you would do in any situation unless you were in that same. exact. one.

@Cobehn Thanks for defending me. You're sweet. <3

@Joey007 You're right, people are going to judge no matter what. You forgot something though - one is not obligated to voice (or type) every passing thought in their head. If you think that having a judgment means you need to make that person aware of it, well, I feel bad for your future wife/children/friends/family. Kindness goes a long way. As far as your advice for me, unsolicited advice is not advice at all: it's an attack.

I'm going to assume stephernoodle and Joey007 are young, so I won't attack in return. I will say that maybe you should try taking a look at the greys once in awhile. Not everything is black and white, good or bad; not everyone is saint or sinner, virgin or whore.
@cutewhensedated yeah i am young so what, a voice of a different generation. your right, one is not obligated to voice anything in there head but then again why would you ever post that you slept with a married man on here. I wasnt attack you sorry if you felt that way. p.s i don't need you to feel bad for my future (husband)/children/friends/family, because i don't usually don't speak out on anything so really i wasnt giving you advise, just my point of view (kind of)and your right about looking in the greys i usually do but not this particular part/situation. but whats done is done, right.?
This seems like quite a heated discussion so I won't get too involved and will try not to judge, as clearly I have no idea of the circumstances of the case. However, as someone who has divorced parents, I will say that if you boyfriend's son finds about his affair, that it will be really truly awful for him. Of course I have no idea whether or not your boyfriend is in a position to get divorced, but if he is in such a position, then I do wonder why he can't wait for a divorce before introducing you to his kid(s). That way, if/when you two stay as a couple after his divorce, his kids won't have to find out that he had an affair.
Just my 2 cents.
My parents are divorced too. Not uncommon these days.
They're not divorced because we're kind enough to support her until she has a job with health insurance of her own. They've been separated for 3 years, we've been together for the length of that. We were together for more than 2 years (not including the affair, I'm only counting the time after he moved out) before introducing me to his kids.
The kids are happier now than they were before, even his wife will admit that, because my boyfriend isn't miserable and always on edge around them. She knew he was unhappy for a long time but didn't know what to do about it.
Remember those greys I mentioned? Yeah.
Oh, and @Joey007 I said "IF you think that having a judgment...then I feel bad for..." Keyword: IF. If you don't, then that comment doesn't pertain to you.
