It's Not Funny

These hands are shaking like two blocks of wood
If I was dead, they’d still be good.
Folks hang up a weathervane,
to point the direction from which it came.
For setting up a box to put my body in
Well it’s alone again, it’s on the ground
I stack ‘em up and I put ‘em down
And when I’m done I’ll pay the check
And wipe the sweat off of my neck.
And my nose is red from crying, but isn’t it funny?
Oh last night I had a dream that I shot a crow, and when I woke up I wish that I had.
‘Cause the last few weeks I’ve been living so low, and my prosperity, it was so sad.
And when I saw that little girl laying there, I was miles and miles away.
I had the world in the palm of my hand, and isn’t it funny?

And I only wanted to be looked after
