In the beginning it's a big thing of "I won't do this and that until you come back" and he transitions with "and it won't be long till you know my songs" which I feel like is him saying you left me because I wasn't famous enough but I will be soon "then I'll know and you'll come back" him saying you're going to come back after I'm big.
He continued with this until he starts with the final 3 stanzas saying basically you're going to be begging for me and I'm not going to take you like you almost get a sense of anger and coddled rage like he truly wants her to feel what he felt. So powerful.
