Christmas Lights Lyrics
Amazing song! It Coldplay so of course I couldn't expect any less.
I think it's about the feeling that Christmas isn't the same unless you can really spend it happily with your loved one(s). "Still waiting for the snow to fall" - still waiting for the perfect Christmas.
The couple in the song gets into a fight on Christmas Eve and the guy walks through "Oxford Street" and reflects on it.
The Christmas Lights give him a sense of security and happiness - "May all your troubles soon be gone."
That's just my take on it - Great song and I love the fireworks at the end of the video.
This song is beautiful...I think it's all about Christmas not being Christmas without the person you really love. He's singing about someone he's lost and he's wishing she could be part of his Christmas ('maybe they'll bring her back to me').
I think this song is nostalgic and looks back with longing but it's also hopeful o her being with him again.
My boyfriend broke up with me a while ago, and I miss him a lot. Christmas isn't going to be the same for me and something inside still longs for him. I guess this song resonates a lot with me at the moment... memories and hope.
Honestly my favorite band in the whole wide world. Beautiful Christmas song.
This song has made my Christmas!
Wow, I just love this song. I don't know if this song will be on their next album or not, but if it's any indication about how their new music might sound, I'm super excited. Especially because Viva la Vida was not my favorite cd they’ve put out.
This was the best Christmas present ever! thanks Coldplay! ;)
I feel that this may be a continuation of the story that Chris Martin describes at the Apple keynote sppec as he sang Wedding Bells. He alludes to that performance a few times during this song, taking the lyrics, "All kinds of poison in my blood" from Wedding Bells.
He goes on to sing, "I go singing out of tune Saying how I always loved you, darling And I always will." Again, an allusion to the Apple keynote performance where he sang the lines "I always loved you and I always will" in the song Wedding Bells. During the performance at Apple his voice broke several times while singing, which is possible where the "I go singing out of tune" line comes from.
Whether this is a continuation of the story he described Wedding Bells as the beginning of or not, it's a great song with an amazing video!
Agree with jmlrugby11. Perfectly fits the lyrics
:) Forget to say the song is amazing!
