"Hey man, who's that cat coming down the stairs?
I don't know, but it sounds to me like that business man with the bone.
Sure has himself a ball!"

- Hello?

Oi Six, What are ya doin'?

- Ah, just Facebook man.

Yeah, right. What are ya doin' tonight?

- Just Facebook man.

Mmmmm. So... Should come out Saturday, it's gunna be sick!

- Nah, I got plans ey.

Yeah, nah. What are ya doin'?

- Jus' probably Facebook man.

*laughs*

Yo, I'm a motherfuckin' Facebook Fiend.
Fuck MySpace, it's FB
So if you want someone to talk to befriend me.
Yo, I got 4000 friends but i'm out for more,
And I won't stop until I get another thousand more.

I deleted one girl, she had a duck face
And this awkward lean that made me wanna smash and chuck plates.

I had to block this angry nutcase (Why?)
That's because your status updates are whack as fuck mate!

Why you do that tag?
If you tag me in a pic that ain't mine
then I remove that tag, gone!

If you know people to add, go and SMS 'em,
'Cause I find this is the best way to get attention.

I don't care about the clubs and events you sendin'
I just care about the friends that you recommendin'

Yo, I wanna sit there all day friend requestin'
And if they ask why, I blame it on my friend suggestions

"Dear Veronica,
Thankyou for accepting my add.
No. I don't know you, but you look pretty cute ey.
If you're from Melbourne, I was just wondering if you'd like to get together
and have a lime milkshake with me one time?
Cheers babe"

Yo'

I know there's others out there that wanna co-sign this,
Now we lucky that we got it on our mobiles, Sick!

You can see me in some pictures
but I don't smile bitch.
And I always give the finger in my profile pics.

Yeah,

And that's a fact unless i'm takin' a Ab-shot.
And i'm a screamer, i'm always writin' in Caps-Lock.

And I'm a nerd in real life but i'm thuggin' on my laptop
So if you wanna fight I got my Gat cocked.

I've got pictures of the bling that I wanna score
And I've got pictures of the rims on my Commodore.

And fuck with me, and you will see your funeral, BLAT!
Check my arms out - Times Roman Numerals tats.

When it comes to hair,
I only rock tips.
I got 'em done in Year Eight
And they've been blond since.

I know you wanna be motivational yo' but,
Fuck you and you're inspirational quotes bitch.

"Hey Babe,
I'm selfish, impatient, a little insecure, I make mistakes,
I'm out of control and at times hard to handle.
But if you can't handle me at my worst,
you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best."

Get fucked.
I do not agree!

Yo,

To all my friends out there,
yo' I'd like you to know this,
Whether Online or Offline,
I don't like to be poked kids!

But now i'm searching just to find me a hoe,
but you ain't Kylie Minogue so why you striking a pose?
Shit

She's hot!
I wanna date that chick!
But she got Emo statuses,
I fuckin' hate that shit! (Fuck!)

And let's be honest,
that's a dumb look, thankyou
And all your pics are taken from an upwards angle.

Listen,
If we can tell you've got a huge head now,
any time you meet a guy then it's a huge let-down.

You're hiding and you'll find that you're lying or denying it as well I can tell
So you're lying to yourself.

Yo, I know you like to upload pics,
But we wanna see you smiling from the front though bitch.

If there's one thing I learnt off MySpace,
It's to never have a blind date with a girl who always likes to hide her face!

"Excuse me, are you Matt?"

"Um, Nup. Nah.
Not me babe."

Funny song. I had wondered if/when there would be songs about the social networking site. Just love the recent commercials on TV that show parents out having fun while their daughter/son complain that the parents are boring (all the while she's sitting at home 'playing' on Facebook). I am addicted to FB but only due to the reconnection with ol' friends from high school and college. And it's wonderful to laugh daily due to the many fun personalities of people who helped share ones childhood/life.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
