At The Bird's Foot Lyrics

There is a fire burning in the ocean
With death dark smoke and devil in the flames
You can see it burning from the valley
Oh you can see it from the high planes

When they went drilling
Searching for black gold
To add more dollars to their names
Then one evening, so suddenly and violent
There was an explosion they can't explain

Oh ooh ooh oh
Oh ooh ooh oh

Now in the deep water and horizon
They sensing it's a death storm
And at the bird's foot
'Cause all of this are drifting
For miles and miles
Poisoning the golf of Mexico

What about the eleven (What about the eleven)
Men at the bottom (Men at the bottom)
Who sank into an underwater grave
And while they were sinking (And while they were sinking)
And their lungs filled with oil (Their lungs filled with oil)
They must have been screaming (Screaming)
Screaming to be saved

Oh ooh ooh oh
Oh ooh ooh oh

What about the eleven (What about the eleven)
Men at the bottom (Men at the bottom)
(Who sank into an underwater grave) (heey heeey heey)
(And while they were sinking) (And while they were sinking)
(And their lungs filled with oil) (Their lungs filled with oil)
(They must have been screaming) (They must have been screaming)
(To be saved)

Cover art for At The Bird's Foot lyrics by City and Colour

I listened to this song recently and it got stuck in my head--pretty clear what it's about. However, to me it sounds like

"Now the Deep Water Horizon Descends down to deaths door And at the bird's foot They've lost all hope Cause oil is a drifting For miles and miles Poisoning the Gulf--of Mexico"

Lyric Correction

Your lyrics are definitely correct...considering the song is about the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
