Bodies Lyrics
They warned you don't go home with him
Cause guilty feet'll never dance again
(I know, but will I ever get the chance again)
I've been held in contempt for an incident
But it takes two to be intimate
So by no means was she innocent
(Well it wasn't a crime if I didn't witness it)
Then why is her body in my bed
At sunrise, the morning paper's read
They found a body in my bed
Ahhh
I leaned towards her and whispered the choice is yours
Need I remind you that I'll have no remorse
(I understand)
Here's a kiss sweetheart this won't hurt a bit
I can kill it with kindness or murder it
Then I'll face the time a murderer gets
(Or get away with it)
Life
Then why is her body in my bed
At sunrise, the morning paper's read
They found a body in my bed yes
Ahhh
May I?
(Yes)
It's okay baby
Let me touch you
(Okay)
*Moans*
You taste so good
*Moans*
omg how come no one has interpreted this song?
I think it's about a guy taking a girl's virginity during a one night stand, told through a metaphorical murder.
He tells her that the choice to go through with it is hers, and that: "those guilty feet will never dance again", meaning she might regret it, and she'll never get another chance to lose it. She replies, "I know, but will I ever get the chance again?" When you're young, losing it feels very important and she feels like she might be stuck with the stigma of being an older virgin and never lose it if she doesn't do it now.
"Here's a kiss, sweetheart, this won't hurt a bit / I could kill it with kindness or murder it" is referring to the act of taking her virginity; he could be sweet or rough, depending on what she wants.
The hook, "They say that chivalry is dead / then why is her body in my bed?" may refer to him allowing her to stay until morning, because it is her first time. The next two lines tie these into the metaphor of the murder.
The lines, "I've been held in contempt for an incident / But it takes two be intimate / So by no means was she innocent" also emphasise the murder metaphor. They sound like the protagonist of the story defending himself against "murdering" her virginity outside of a relationship, when really they both enjoyed it, as evidenced by the moans at the end of the song.
I just love the reference to Careless Whisper: "Those guilty feet will never dance again"
I always interpret this song as him getting a girl pregnant from a one night stand....the wine is white and the lights are dim....they warned u dont go home with him ((meaning he is a player....he makes u feel so good, but wants one thing)) those guilty feet will never dance again...((u may regret being with him in the end))....ive been held in contempt for an incident but it takes two to be intimate ((she's blaming him for the pregnancy but they both engaged in sexual activity)) so by no means was she innocent.....they say that chilvary is dead ((love)) then why is her body in my bed ((the baby/his child is the body found in hisbed he is surprised to be a father)).....when he says i can kill it with kindness or murder it then face the time a murderer gets....life! ((That means weather he is sweet & gentle or fast and rough.....the end result will be the same.....creation of life))
When he says can nonchalance be ambiance of course i lean forward and whisper the choice is yours may i remind u ill have no remorse ((that means u better choose wisely and strap up because u cant take back the decision once its made)) ......point of the song to me.....its a thin line between life & death.....by sunrise she was dead ((aids)).....he had killer sex literally!! The song is deep thats just my thoughts...
