In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

This song has so much more depth than most of the songs she has out right now. I found it on accident a few days ago and immediately it made me cry. It is a very relateable song and it shows a different side of Ke$ha. When she sings 'Oh oh oh' there is so much emotion and you can feel the pain. When she says 'I see your face in strangers on the street I still say your name when I'm talking in my sleep' you can feel how much she loved him and you just want to give her a big hug and tell her that it's all going to be fine. This is easily my favorite song at the moment. MORE LIKE THIS!
This song is about how she lost her fiancé in an accident. The emotions created by that traumatic event led to the creation of this song; probably one of her deepest songs that I've ever heard from her. Imagine: You meet someone; you fall madly in love with them, get engaged, and have that person torn from your arms while you are left alone, haunted by the memories of your past life with them. This song is about so much more than loss, it's about total mental and emotional devastation, about wanting to go back to the past when you had that person, but knowing that you will never be able to. They're gone, and you can't do anything about it, despite the strong outer appearance that you put on. This song has made me cry multiple times, it's just loaded with emotional lyrics, such as "Drunk off of nothing but each other till the sunrise" and the play on a traditional saying in "They say that true love hurts well this could almost kill me". Half the strength of this song is the emotion that Ke$ha puts into this song, the other half is the fact that everyone can relate to it in some way. We've all lost someone who we loved, we've all missed someone dearly, and we've all made that harsh realization that we can never have them back. Most defiantly one of her deepest songs, and I hope you feel the same way about it as I do, with tears in your eyes as you reflect upon your past life and how badly you would give anything just to hold their hand again, just to see their face, just to not be sleeping alone...just to be loved by them once again.
