Sounds like a revenge song, quite obviously. The thing is that the contrast between the lyrics and the beautiful, almost angelic voice, is pretty stunning.
for sure a revenge song with the singer having an obvious grudge against the person in the song. the lyrics "I'll be the last one standing up" and "I'll make you wish you've never been born" make me think the singer wants to bring the person down and make them regret their decision. rust is obviously a very sad song with the tunes but I find the singer's voice very compelling.
