The Mummer's Dance Lyrics
When the trees are crowned with leaves
When the ash and oak, and the birch and yew
Are dressed in ribbons fair.
in the blue veil of the night
When shadows of the trees appear
amidst the lantern('s) light.
and sometime of this day
Now returning back again
we bring a garland gay.
and summon the shadows there
And tie a ribbon on those sheltering arms
in the springtime of the year.
and when the fiddler plays
All their voices can be heard
long past their woodland days.
and sometime of this day
Now returning back again
we bring a garland gay.
'round in circles and in rows
And so the journey of the night descends
when all the shades are gone.
And at your door we stand
Here's a sprout, well budded out
The work of our Lord's hand.
and sometime of this day
Now returning back again
we bring a garland gay.
If you have ever researched ancient religions/history & are not ignorant by thinking paganism remotely has anything to do with satan or evil, you'll understand this. By the way, paganism means "urban dweller"...in other words, if you were not "civilized" or lived in a rural area, then you were considered an "urban dweller"....aka, "pagan...please don't be ignorant. Please research ancient history rather than being a sheep & just believing what you hear. Religion is man made & we continue to make new rules as we along....that's why I enjoy learning about ancient religion...before man twisted & turned it into what "he" thought it should be or mean. Think outside the box, guys. This is all mine....but "what better motivation than eternal damnation". Also, who created the bible really? I believe in God....a Higher Power...I don't believe in man. Peace.
