Forget Remember When Lyrics
For a better tomorrow
Forget Remember When
Better not borrow
memories from them
There's a hole in tomorrow
So Forget Remember When
History Hollow
Carved out by them
Deep enough to fit
all of us in
How much time's wasted on
Words and thoughts I know are wrong
There isn't a choice except to stop
thinking there isn't a choice
How strange that there's rain,
but how could you have known?

This song is amazing. I think the title/lyrics are pretty self-explanatory. He's saying when we start thinking about how it was, "Remember when we did this" Remember when we did that," it can't be good for us. Living in the past (even with the good memories) is never a productive thing. It wastes time; when you "borrow memories" you're holding everything up against those memories- it lessens the value of 'now'. Perhaps the "There's a hole in tomorrow" also resonates with what I have interpreted the song to mean...the hole exists because one isn't even living in the present, living in the past allows for no tomorrows.
"There isn't a choice except to stop thinking there isn't a choice," (how amazing is this!?) We keep dwelling on the past and holding on to the hurt, and even the good stuff, but once again that doesn't allow for us to live today, does it? We assume we can't let go...and that thought process needs to be eliminated. We all have choice, he conveys.
I don't get the last bit really, perhaps he means unexpected things happen all the time? Like the rain--who could have seen it coming really? Therefore, how can we base anything (our lives?) of off the past's foundation? Or the rain could represent tears? I'd love to see any other thoughts on this, I'm probably way off.
