And If My Heart Should Somehow Stop Lyrics

verse 1

the wind changed, the first day that you came through
cut the corn, washed it clean
now everything that's ever gone before, is like a blur
and it's all because of you
and now i find, this city's like a stranger to me
I once was fooled by cadillacs and honey
but no one feels like you
and I like you
and I like you
and I like you

cause even though the flower fades something takes it's place
a marching band or a sunny day,
pretty eyes or a a pretty face

and in the forest i made my home
lay down on hard and ancient stone
then if my heart should somehow stop
I'll hang on, to the hope
that you're not too late
that you're not too late

verse 2

and there are times I know when I will have to chase you
the further from my side you go, the longing grows
and I will hate it, but I still want you,
yes I will hate it, no, I still want you around

even though the flower dies somethings by it's side
a helping hand or a kiss goodbye, to ease it on it's way

i'm pretty sure the lyrics are "and in the forest i make my home lay down my heart on ancient stone and if my heart should somehow stop i'll hang on to the hope.." hope it helps!

This song is about a guy who knows the 'right person' finally came in his life. "The wind changed, the first day that you came through cut the corn, washed it clean now everything that's ever gone before, is like a blur and it's all because of you..."

He once felt for the wrong girls, the outer beauty like cadillacs, the lies like honey but finally he met this genuine girl, and he likes her. "but no one feels like you and I like you..."

He hopes that it won't be too late, that this chance won't be gone. He's hanging on the hope that it will work out- even if he has to do the chasing.

"and there are times I know when I will have to chase you the further from my side you go, the longing grows."

For the last verses "even though the flower dies somethings by it's side a helping hand or a kiss goodbye, to ease it on it's way" He simply means that even when things are tough in life, there's always something positive to it. For this case, the positive thing will be the girl and he hopes it won't be too late.
