It's about a girl who is private about how she is really feeling. She's scarred still from what happened, but she has hope and faith that it will be okay. I love this song:) it gives me inspiration to stay strong.
To me, this song is reminiscent of moving out on your own for the first time, or just growing up or having your heart broken for the first time. It's hard, and you make some mistakes, "Sometimes you gotta win until you lose". It reminds me of my first year at college and all the mistakes I made and how much I grew up and learned to be independent and figure things out on my own,not with a boy, and made me realize that its always going to be okay. Beautiful song. I think any girl can relate to the feeling of being lost in the world and having to figure things out on your own.

I read somewhere that Jennifer Nettles wrote this song after she had a miscarriage and that listening to it helps her deal with what happened and makes her feel stronger. I think this is accurate but I agree, it's about feeling lost and knowing that sometimes you just have to "lose until you win"
This song reminds me of Demi Lovato so much.
Its about a girl who has so many sides...and she has too much on her shoulders that people need to reasure her that things are gonna be okay? and she needs to take a breath and not be so good or perfect? I dont know it seems to mean so many things and I get confused but yeah its what I think :D xx
