Alligator Blood

When I heard this song, I believed it to be about two people misbehaving or acting dangerously together, like in "Russian Roulette",and on the outside appearing to not really care about the consequences. But they keep their "secrets" close to them about the situation. I think the "Alligator Blood" refers to the narrator being cold-blooded, either emotionless, lacking courage, or both. Because of this, he (or whoever) can't keep his secret hidden very well, "My alligator's blood is starting to show..." He really is feeling suicidal because he can't seem to live life "Show me how to live...help me find a way..." but he thinks in the end he can't be saved, so he tells his friend to "Leave before it's too late.." but there is still that doubt of whether his friend can make it: "Tell me who will make it out alive." So basically, they spiralled out of control. That is my take on the song. I have not seen the movie Fight Club.

I think what they mean with "alligator blood" is being cold-blooded, show no emotion and bluff your way out.

Tbh I think this whole damn song is about Fight Club. I'm watching this movie right now and when he said "Put a gun to my head and paint the walls with my brains." I was like "whoa, I never noticed that Alligator Blood says the exact same thing." and so I looked up the lyrics, and thinking about it, it just reminds me of the movie in general. Especially the whole Tyler/Narrator relationship. Am I right? This song makes me think of the end of the movie. Call me crazy but that's just my opinion. (:

This song makes me think of Media and how corrupt it is and I also see it as someone be bullied.

Basically I see it as you should have stopped listening to everybody else and the media and then you wouldn't be dead or "destroyed"

Technically the song is just about a bet in a game of chance. Russian roulette seems to be the choice, but it doesn't fit with Alligator Blood. Alligator Blood is a term used to describe a person who wins a poker game on bluff alone. They put all in and out bluff the person or people they're playing against.

I love it when it says 'Paint the fucking walls'. Taken out of context it makes me giggle whenever I hear him say it with so much passion. Therefore I conclude that this song is aimed at Oli's interior decorator. :P

Alligator Blood means someone who is short stacked in Poker bluffs anyways and wins. His "Alligator Blood is starting to show" aka everyone realizes he's faking it.

I see the song as simply saying "I've played. I've been playing for a very long time. Why do I bother when I am so close to losing. I give up."

Well, alligator blood is what you call a poker player who, although they have all the odds against them, they are still able to win. The song seems like its about living life and having everything go against you all the time, but at the end, you can win in some way.

This idea is supported by the music video, where Oli is playing a sort of spin off of, Russian Roulette, Poker (and other gambling games), with divination card, with a masked individual, who we later find out to be OLI himself... Confusing? IKR.
