i think the song is talking about a guy who has done wrong things in this life, but for the girl he would do anything. He said he will always be there for her when she needs him and protect her even if it means he gets to go to heaven because his sins can be repented for helping her.

Anyways that's my take on "Guardian Angel" I could be wrong

It's about a guy who's promising forever to a girl that he really wants to prove himself to. He's gonna go through the ups and downs, and whatever bad circumstances that they may encounter. All he asks in return is for the girl to stay by his side.

He may have gone through some rough times in a previous relationship, which turned him into a stronger individual. In his current relationship, he knows that he is capable of doing anything for this girl. I guess the guy has recognized the girl to be "the one" for him. He wants to be able to show the girl that he is "the one" for her, as well. He is willing to take the leap.

There is such devotion and sincerity in the lyrics and in the voice of the singer. It's about a deeper kind of love, minus the delusions... Wouldn't it be great if your bf proposed with this song in the background? I'd definitely love that :)
