Great! This song is about leaving downtown Naperville on New Year's Eve. He's walking down North Ave. past St. Peter and Paul. He menitions BNSF. Burlington Northern Santa Fe is the train that takes you out of Naperville. This song is brilliant. Anyone who's lived in this town sheds tears when they hear this.
He's leaving because he feels he doesn't belong at some Downtown Naperville bar on New Year's Eve. He left his date and got on the train, and then wrote her a song. I have no idea if this happened, or if it's a lyrical dramitization, but either way, great song.
