Hazelton Avenue Lyrics

The modern world sits so easily
A different kind of honesty
Yes I worship at the altar
I am a happy consumer

A record shop and some clarity
Don't need a wilderness to feel solitary
Oh don't need a wilderness

So take me back
To Hazelton Avenue

Motion coffee sleep
It's all I really need
Moving on accept all my apologies
Oh motion coffee sleep
Please accept all my apologies

Amongst the crowd the disconnect is sweeter
Alone in bed the joy is even deeper
I feel like I could - write a best seller

So take me back
To Hazelton Avenue

Cover art for Hazelton Avenue lyrics by Manic Street Preachers

'Hazleton Avenue, which is for me the best riff song we've come up with since Motorcycle Emptiness. James left me and Sean an acoustic demo with the riff on and he said he thought it was like Thin Lizzy, and then we listened to it, and me and Sean thought it almost sounded like It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over by Lenny Kravitz... which is a brilliant song, I don't care what anybody else says... and so we just tried to marry those two elements together really.'
