Coronado Lyrics
I was sick, I was dead
Lay my head on the cement bed
I had a few good years
But they don't know
Come on now, don't leave me hangin'
'Cause I wanna get down or I -
I'll start believing' what they said
In my heart, I don't believe it
And if I go ahead I know that you're leavin' and I -
I can't wait to see you go
I can't wait to see you go
In my heart, I feel so high
I want to know the answers why
I ask so many questions, they let me go
They hang up the telephone
"And if I die, before I wake
I know that it must frustrate some people
That need a paycheck
Well, they need their blood let."
Lay my head on the cement bed
I had a few good years
But they don't know
'Cause I wanna get down or I -
I'll start believing' what they said
And if I go ahead I know that you're leavin' and I -
I can't wait to see you go
I can't wait to see you go
I want to know the answers why
I ask so many questions, they let me go
They hang up the telephone
I know that it must frustrate some people
That need a paycheck
Well, they need their blood let."

Sounds like it's about the classic conundrum of one's inability to understand the world around them before they "clock out". Hey, the title even sounds like "conundrum"!
The best song Julian Casablancas has written in 7 years or so
Kidding. Awesome song though, the saxophone is wonderful
I remember reading a comment somewhere where Bradford said that he thought everyone was going to start having saxophones in their songs in the very near future...Lady Gaga, Bon Iver, and just recently M83...and I gotta say I'm fucking loving them all!
It seems to me to be about that feeling when you get really drunk, enough to be delirious but not quite passed out. You feel self-conscious and tend to get confused/have morbid thoughts.
My favorite song of 2010. The saxophone is wonderful.
Anyone think this might have something to do with the death of Kate Morgan at the Coronado Hotel? A lot of this album seems to be about dead people
