Out of Goodbyes Lyrics

Tell me actions speak louder
But there's something about her words that hurt
Closing up and it's so late and
I'm the last one still waiting for you to lock the door

On our way home I realize
There's some kind of storm brewing in his eyes
Only veiled by a thin disguise

Now that I've done my time
I need to move on and I need you to try
'cause we're out of goodbyes
We're out of goodbyes, out of goodbyes

Never asked you to change
But sadly you don't feel the same about me
I wonder does your man still shudder when you touch his hand
Like this man

On our way home I realize
There's some kind of storm brewing in his eyes
Only veiled by a thin disguise

Now that I've done my time
I need to move on and I need you to try
'cause we're out of goodbyes
We're out of goodbyes, we're out of goodbyes

This is an amazing song, just sayin'. I think its about a boy & a girl who dated, broke up & now she's dating someone else. They both still love each other, but they know they can't date again because they've redated & said goodbye too many times.

I wasn't a big fan of this song when I first heard it on the album. But then something clicked and I now really like the song. It's just a very simple, genuine song. I know it's just a song but I really feel bad for Adam Levine at the beginning of this song when he says that this chicks words do hurt haha.

Never thought a country song would be the best song on the album but it is. The story is about the struggles of moving on for good after a relationship is over. Here's my interpretation,

"Tell me actions speak louder But there's something about her words that hurt Closing up and it's so late and I'm the last one still waiting for you to lock the door"

The man is hurt from his woman's words more so than the actions of her leaving doesn't speak louder to him. The man is always the last one waiting for her to come back after leaving and closing the door on their relationship for good.

"On our way home I realize There's some kind of storm brewing in his eyes Only veiled by a thin disguise"

From the woman's perspective, she's finally realizing the man's hurting in this relationship with her and she can tell by just looking him in the eyes and he's hiding it barely.

Now that I've done my time I need to move on and I need you to try 'cause we're out of goodbyes

The man's done his time waiting for her and he can't handle another time where one of them leaves another, so he asks her to try to move on without him and basically never come back again into his life again.

"Never asked you to change But sadly you don't feel the same about me I wonder does your man still shudder when you touch his hand Like this man"

The man never asked the woman to change, but she doesn't feel the same about him. Yet,he still wonders if her new man loves her as much as he did.

This song reminds me of "this love" by maroon 5 in a lot of ways. Both songs symbolize how love can take a toll on someone where both people break up and leave each other, then get back together. It just comes to a point where enough heartbreak isn't worth it and both people need to move and never see each other again.

This sweet, sad song featuring country trio Lady Antebellum came together in a single day in Switzerland. Keyboardist Jesse Carmichael told Rolling Stone: "We're excited for a lot of new people to hear our band through that song."
