The Future Has Been Here 4 Ever Lyrics
Wipe those tears away
Keep as still as you can
Hold your breath and dig deep
And stop those trembling hands
Make yourself pretty
Just for one last time
No one will ever know
You ever left your prime
The future has been here forever
The future's still unclear whatever
This place it left me
A long, long time ago
But it still keeps me here
It still keeps me close
When i start to break free
It calls me back again
Like the Godfather 3
I never can escape
My future has been here forever
The future's still unclear whatever
When you can't shake off your yesterdays
When you can't rewrite your histories
When you let some love break through the light
When you let someone come into your life
Keep as still as you can
Hold your breath and dig deep
And stop those trembling hands
Just for one last time
No one will ever know
You ever left your prime
The future's still unclear whatever
A long, long time ago
But it still keeps me here
It still keeps me close
When i start to break free
It calls me back again
Like the Godfather 3
I never can escape
The future's still unclear whatever
When you can't rewrite your histories
When you let someone come into your life

Great song.. love the trumpets... lyrics are quite self-explanatory, like a lot of Postcards From A Young Man, it's about looking at your personal past. I can imagine Nicky writing this when he was feeling old but still wanting to jump about :)
'It's just that idea really that everything's been done. You can trace everything back, everything's been said, and y'know the idea is to find your path along that kind of secret journey and then just try and visualise and sort of become eloquent and in those things you learnt around the way... it's probably the best vocal I've ever done.'
