You know I really want to say that corey wrote this song to be about him and scarletts divorce. There is such intense pain and emotion in this song in certain parts. The lyrics at the ends of the verses and the chorus are especially sung with a lot of emotion. "What's the sense in anything? It's just one more goodbye" that is one of my favorite lyrics on the cd. But yeah, that's my two sense.
I think this song is very emotional and bitter and it describes my current situation and thoughts perfectly.
I absolutely love this song, I can personally relate to it. Here is what I think. The person (Corey), just ended his relationship. And it is just too fresh, the person still loves her, and is still hurting. He is unable to let go even though he is trying his level best. The 1st verse is about, the good memories they had, even though they were good, it just hurts too much to relive them, so it is locked away in a part of his mind, that he only visit at his lowest of lows. That person was one of a kind, and after a break up people tend to say that it is alright you deserve better, and all that. But deep inside you know that you were perfect for each other and that person was probably too good for you and you knew it. Then the chorus is quite simple, he is talking to the person who left him, telling her that it hurts, that every second without her is like dying a thousand deaths and that he hopes that she is happy knowing that. the 2nd verse, he says that there is still a part of him that believes that she will come back to him, that he accepted her completely her imperfections were perfect for him. He loved her for who she was. But now he is wondering what is the point in accepting someone, loving them wholly because ultimately they just have to part. And you are left hurting.
Here is what I think, I could be completely wrong, but this is my take on the song. Feel free to criticize
Long ago lost love, came to be friends again. He once told me to listen to this and I must have cried for hours. Very painful to know that someone felt this way and I never knew.
