I think this song is about somebody being broken up with. The person being broken up (your words are so deadly) with cant beleive that they are breaking up (cause the surely cant be happining) but they are trying not to get to upset(but im not dead yet).
The guy is with this girl that he hasnt seen or touched in so long. It feels like a dream to touch her, hold her, and he is curious if he is in heaven or dreaming... then realizes he isnt dead yet let alone asleep.
