This song is obviously about a girl. I believe he and her were together, but she was unpredictable (and always will be, hence: "she won't be yours, and you won't be hers) and left him. Unpredicatable where she was nice one day and then the next she was cold and didn't want anything to do with him. The seasons are meant for change, and I suppose he is meaning that things and people are changing around him and he wants to go on with it.
