Oh, wonderful one
Why are you like that?
Oh, wonderful one
Why are you like that?
Glow in the darkness
That's how we do it
Glow in the darkness
That's how we do it
Just like the stars up on your ceiling
That put you to sleep after
Oh, wonderful one
Why are you like that?
Oh, wonderful one
Why are you like that?
Glow in the darkness
That's how we do it
Glow in the darkness
That's how we do it
Just like the stars up on your ceiling
That put you to sleep after
Just like the stars up on your ceiling
That put you to sleep after
Put you to sleep after
Put you to sleep after
Cross the blinding darkness of the room
In your room
In your room
There's your head
It's bandaged from the top
Clinging with your fears
Clinging with your tears–fear
We are apart but not
Again and again
Again and again
And it doesn't make sense
So put away your jewels then
I'll be at your drowning
At your libation
You've died
And in the end, they ask you for your reply
Don't you tell them what you found out
This time
Why are you like that?
Oh, wonderful one
Why are you like that?
That's how we do it
Glow in the darkness
That's how we do it
That put you to sleep after
Why are you like that?
Oh, wonderful one
Why are you like that?
That's how we do it
Glow in the darkness
That's how we do it
That put you to sleep after
Just like the stars up on your ceiling
That put you to sleep after
Put you to sleep after
Put you to sleep after
In your room
In your room
It's bandaged from the top
Clinging with your fears
Clinging with your tears–fear
Again and again
Again and again
And it doesn't make sense

A guy is confiding in to his best childhood friend/former girlfriend w/benefits He's getting married and wants her approval/opinion She can't tell him how she really feels hence the lines "at your drowning" "at your libation" referring to the expected drunkenness to follow the after wedding ceremony
She knows something about her but can't tell him cause he wouldn't believe her that is what the last verse is about She knows everyone would think she was just being a past jealous/jilted lover It is sung from this place of sadness....
Why has no one commented yet?! I don't know what it's about, but it's a lovely song. :)
First of all, what a wonderful song :)
I think this song is about a girl, who has a casual relationship with a guy, but she is already secretly in love with him. She is not contented since they can’t be more than what they are now (maybe the guy is permanently with another girl). She is deeply hurt, but still chooses to live like this because it’s the only way she could be with the one she loves.
Their relationship is compared to the glow in the dark stars on the ceiling. The girl thinks that her desire is unreachable, just like those stars. However, to the guy, their affair is just like the habitual gesture of looking at those stars before going to sleep.
I’m really not sure about the meaning, but this is how I see it.
This was the song Warpaint opened with when I saw them live in Toronto last year. Right after a throwaway comment by Theresa, I think, that she had a roach stuck to her shoe. Anyways, that's the meaning of the song: this is their ode to the joint. Think about it: "glow in the darkness" "put you to sleep after". They're describing a late-night bake session.
She's singing about being with her small child as he's falling asleep
its pretty chill
I think this song creates the image of those glow in the dark stars that every little kid ever has on their walls and ceilings; i mean they glow, they're on a ceiling, and they put kids to sleep. I didnt realize there were so few lyrics when listening to it, great song writing!
There aren't actually so few lyrics, like half the song is missing, maybe more

Babies/kids are stars to their mothers - the wonder of life that comes out of you, that's a copy of you but not you. And kids sometimes have stars on their ceilings to soothe and amuse them as they go to sleep. So on the surface, it's about the connection and wonder (the "glow") that a parent feels watching their child fall asleep. But it's much deeper too, because it's not only the baby that glows (mysteriously with a unique life) in the darkness, but the song says all of us do too ("glow in the darkness, that's how WE...

The song expresses wonder in how we are all shining stars, all different and all alive, glowing in the darkness of an inexplicably enormous and dark universe.
The first line always make me think of twinkle twinkle little star but maybe that's just me...
I know this probably doesn't make sense at all, but I feel like they are talking about fake people surrounding you, and how you're a cool person and should try to remain real.
or maybe its just the drugs talking.
i think this song is about an affair
