Oh wonderful one why are you like that?
Oh wonderful one why are you like that?
Glow in the darkness, that's how we do it
Glow in the darkness, that's how we do it
Just like the stars upon your ceiling that
Put you to sleep after

Oh wonderful one why are you like that?
Oh wonderful one why are you like that?
Glow in the darkness, that's how we do it
Glow in the darkness, that's how we do it
Just like the stars upon your ceiling that
Put you to sleep after
Just like the stars upon your ceiling that
Put you to sleep after
Put you to sleep after
Put you to sleep after

Close the blind the darkness of your room
In your room
In your room
There's your headache explain it at your talk-talk-talk
Hanging with your feet-feet-feet
Hanging with your feet
Cause here
We are
Apart but not
Again
And again
Again
And again
That doesn't make sense
So put away your tools

Let me show
Let me show
Let me show

And in the end they ask you for
Your reply
Don't you tell them
What you found out
There's time

Oh wonderful one why are you like that? Oh wonderful one why are you like that?

Glow in the darkness that how we do it Glow in the darkness that how we do it

Just like the stars upon your ceiling that, put you to sleep afterrrrr.

Oh wonderful one why are you like that? Oh wonderful one why are you like that?

Glow in the darkness that how we do it Glow in the darkness that how we do it

Just like the stars up on your ceiling bed, put you to sleep after.

Just like the stars up on your ceiling bed, put you to sleep afterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Put you to sleep afterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Put you to sleep after

I'm surrounded in darkness of the room in the room in your room

where your head is bandaged from the top [echoes] top top top clinging with your feet clinging with your tears fears

We are apart but not again, and again again and again

Nothing makes us So put away your jewels, now I'll be at your drowning at your libation [sung as if to mean LIE -bation] you cannnnnn

and in the end they ask you for....your reply don't you tell them....what you found out this time

A guy is confiding in to his best childhood friend/former girlfriend w/benefits He's getting married and wants her approval/opinion She can't tell him how she really feels hence the lines "at your drowning" "at your libation" referring to the expected drunkenness to follow the after wedding ceremony

She knows something about her but can't tell him cause he wouldn't believe her that is what the last verse is about She knows everyone would think she was just being a past jealous/jilted lover It is sung from this place of sadness....

First of all, what a wonderful song :)

I think this song is about a girl, who has a casual relationship with a guy, but she is already secretly in love with him. She is not contented since they can’t be more than what they are now (maybe the guy is permanently with another girl). She is deeply hurt, but still chooses to live like this because it’s the only way she could be with the one she loves.

Their relationship is compared to the glow in the dark stars on the ceiling. The girl thinks that her desire is unreachable, just like those stars. However, to the guy, their affair is just like the habitual gesture of looking at those stars before going to sleep.

I’m really not sure about the meaning, but this is how I see it.

This was the song Warpaint opened with when I saw them live in Toronto last year. Right after a throwaway comment by Theresa, I think, that she had a roach stuck to her shoe. Anyways, that's the meaning of the song: this is their ode to the joint. Think about it: "glow in the darkness" "put you to sleep after". They're describing a late-night bake session.

I think this song creates the image of those glow in the dark stars that every little kid ever has on their walls and ceilings; i mean they glow, they're on a ceiling, and they put kids to sleep. I didnt realize there were so few lyrics when listening to it, great song writing!

I know this probably doesn't make sense at all, but I feel like they are talking about fake people surrounding you, and how you're a cool person and should try to remain real.

or maybe its just the drugs talking.

    My Interpretation

I think some of these interpretations are correct in stating that this is about a clandestine romance, but they're wrong about what kind of clandestine romance. This is a song about being queer and closeted and in a relationship.

"Glow in the darkness, that's how we do it Just like the stars upon your ceiling that Put you to sleep after"

"Glow" as in that kind of glow when people get in relationships. They are not allowed to "glow" in the "light", or in the public eye. They can only glow in the dark, where they're hidden. The stars that "put you to sleep after", I'm assuming are putting the partner to sleep after sex. This line sort of indicates that they're in a serious enough relationship to be sleeping next to each other or having sex or both.

"Oh wonderful one why are you like that?" Perhaps the vocalist is asking her girlfriend why she's not being open about their relationship, perhaps indicative of a desire to be open with their friends and family about their relationship.

"Cause here We are Apart but not Again And again" They're together in a relationship, in love, but they're apart in front of their family and friends. They're apart in public. They can't openly show love to each other.

"Let me show" Basically, "let me be open about us"

"And in the end they ask you for Your reply Don't you tell them What you found out There's time" Perhaps a family member or friend asking the partner in this scenario "are you gay/bi/etc.?" They want her reply. "Don't you tell them what you found out. There's time." She can stay closeted if she chooses, even though she's found at that she's into women. But if she lets it out in the open, then there's no turning back.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
