I think this one is just about skating a sweet rail
I believe this song is just an anthem of youthfulness. It's remincising about being young. "Back then our bones wouldn't break, we didn't give a fuck" and "fighting to stay awake" are things everyone in their youth can relate to. People have the idea that when they are young they are invincible and nothing can hurt them. This is just the writer's way of symbolizing his youth and putting it in song.
Please. Over 5,000 views yet no comments! What are the odds of that. ZERO. Someone is using some techno system on this site and manipulating the results. If you are gonna do that, at least pick a GOOD song! As for this little dandy, I have no clue what it means, but then again it's called A Few Screws Loose and the artist chose to name itself A Great Big Pile of Leaves:) I say it's a great big pile of poo.
