Keeping My Wits About You

We’re here for a good time, not for a long time.
I’ve been holding your morals too close to my heart for far too long.
And over time I’ve seen it ruin me.
I had no opinions to call my own ..no life around your thoughts of me.
I tell no lies when I say “I’ve been here before.”
Yeah, I’ve felt my face flat on this floor.
So don’t judge me when I say “I’m not here to ignore.”
It just doesn’t seem like you’re listening anymore.
It’s been a while now, since I’ve been afraid of something this juvenile.
But it’s not my fault.
Everyone tells me that it’s all in my head and I can’t do a thing.
So I’m sitting here playing it over and over.
Now I give up on this. I’ve wasted too much time.
